Dounia Tamri-Loeper

Founder & Designer

To me, the relationship between material, form, and craft is deeply connected to what it means to be human. Growing up in a beautiful coastal town in Morocco, I was immersed in a rich tradition of artisan ceramicists whose craftsmanship had been passed down through generations. This environment shaped my unique artistic style and instilled in me a deep appreciation for the marriage of textures, forms, and patterns. After moving to the U.S. in 2003 to further my artistic development, I pursued design, earning my B.S. in Design from Drexel University and later serving as an art director at Michael Graves Architecture and Design, where I had the honor of working alongside the legendary Michael Graves.

In 2016, I launched Dounia Home with the dream of sharing my Moroccan heritage and distinctive artistic vision with the world. Each piece I create is an invitation into a world of simplicity, functionality, and history. The relationship between material, form, and craft remains central to my practice; each creation passes through many minds and hands, absorbing energy and soul, before moving on to adapt to new environments and lives. It is in the trust I place in this creative journey—and the joy of letting go—that I find both possibility and purpose.

“ It has always been my dream to share my Moroccan heritage and unique artistic style with people around the world."
